That’s a Wrap!

Thanks for coming to the fourth Duo Classic. It was a pleasure to have so many smiling faces keeping the same relaxed and fun vibe that the Duo Classic is known for.

Congratulations to all of our winners and podium place getters, as well as the quiet achievers. A special mention to those who completed their first race, challenged themselves and supported their teammates.

Congratulations again to Paul Van Egmond on winning the Trek Bike. Paul has the choice of a Trek Superfly FS8 or a Trek Fuel EX8!

Our photographer Jeff Wray was out all day behind the lens. Photos will be available to purchase at $15 for a high resolution digital copy. Visit the Jeff Wray Photography website to have a look at the photos and email for an order form. Photos will be up in the next week or so.

Results are all online thanks to Jack from DURT. We hope that the new chip timing system made the split timing point and finish line a smoother process. If you have any queries about results please contact

The Duo Juniors race for the Under 4’s to 10’s was a great success. In its second year running we have already seen a significant increase in participants and we look forward to seeing more new faces next year. Thank you to Sonia Pragt and Karyn Williams for their help.

The Duo Junior Development Camp will be held again later this year, with Bec Henderson and Dan McConnell hosting junior riders from across the country in an amazing weekend of skills and training sessions. $5 from every rider registration at the Duo Classic goes towards the costs of the camp so thank you to all participants for your contribution.

Thank you to our major sponsors Beyond Bank and Trek. Beyond Bank once again went above and beyond, making the Duo Juniors race extra special for our littlies.

Our MTBA Commissaire Darryl Cram was once again flawless, keeping the vibe relaxed and fun but a safe environment for all of us to enjoy!

The St John Ambulance Australia BERT (Bicycle Emergency Response Team) from the ACT and NSW, who came down from Sydney, had an impressive presence and the support of the BERT team is greatly appreciated.

The Lions Club of Gungahlin served up a delicious breakfast and lunch in the event centre. Funky Brew, as always, served up great coffee and cold drinks. The Lions Club has offered to donate profits from the BBQ over the day to the Duo Classic, however we have asked for this money to be donated to the Tour de Cure, through Kent from Funky Brew, raising money to cure cancer. We thank the Lions Club sincerely for their generosity in assisting us to donate to this worthy cause.

Lastly, our hardworking volunteers were amazing and we are truly grateful for their time and efforts over the weekend. We would also like to acknowledge Canberra Off Road Cyclists for their on-going support of the Duo Classic and the Junior Development Camp.

As we move on to planning the 2016 Duo Classic we would love to have your feedback with five very short questions on how we can improve things, and what we did right. The feedback form is available here: We appreciate your time to help us improve and also know what you love about the Duo Classic.
